Guided farm buggy tour

This is a shared experience, and other Carinya guests may join the tour.

“This isn’t just a drive around. It’s a chance to see your stay in a new light.”

We’ll jump into The Boss’s Ride (very fancy A/C farm buggy) for a loop through a few paddocks, check the stock and chat about what’s happening this season.

Perfect for those who want to stretch their legs, ask a few questions, or simply see what happens beyond the gate.

Guided farm buggy tour for visitors to Lightning Ridge

Join Joe and Jacinda, owners of Carinya, for a cuppa and a chat. Guests often say their first impression feels “like catching up with old mates,” setting the tone for a tour that begins the moment you arrive.

Next, hop into The Boss’s Ride and venture beyond the gate into the paddocks. From sandhills to black soil plains, every part of Carinya has a story.  No two days are the same, no two seasons either - often dry, yet this is part of who we are.

Observe our livestock grazing in the paddock, and we'll pull up to chat about the crop. Learn how and why we farm this way, from cattle and goats to the land itself. Spot wildlife, birds, and soak in our big sky.

Share real conversations and forge connections.

Pull up in the paddock to kick back and simply be.

Enjoy a cool drink and homemade treats, made and grown by us at Carinya, before heading back to the homestead.

Premium guided tour with a sunset campfire finale

Join us as the day winds down and the sky puts on its best show.

Good company. Great food and the timeless calm of the outback.

Your tour starts the moment you arrive: Meet Joe and Jacinda: the owners, at the homestead for a warm welcome. With a firm handshake and the love of a good chat, they share their genuine outback hospitality. Visitors often remark that they're ‘made to feel like they're being welcomed home’

Then, we'll head off on The Boss’s Ride, our air-conditioned farm buggy, for a journey through the black soil plains, sandhills and open skies.

Witness the season’s story firsthand: Our livestock and cropping operations, reflect on the land’s resilience through dry spells and wet.

As the sun falls, watch wildlife settle and the land soften under fading light, Leaving us captivated by the beauty of the often-dry outback.

Discover the land’s contrasts. Share stories by the campfire, under the stars.

Wind down by the campfire’s warmth as the sun dips, enjoying canapés and sippers—all grown on the farm and cooked in our kitchen by Jacinda.
